Initial appointment + treatment

1 hour 15 minutes

£70

These are highly personalised, one-to-one treatments.

During your 75 minute appointment:

You will be encouraged to share details about your past and current health and wellbeing. Acupuncture is a holistic medicine which means the ‘whole of you’ is taken into account not just the bothersome symptoms. This means you will be asked about aspects of your health besides the issue you are seeking help with.

Based on your presenting symptoms and taking into account your health history and other salient factors in your life, a personalised diagnosis according to Chinese Medical Principles will be made alongside additional information provided by specific diagnostic processes unique to the practice of acupuncture. This may include looking at your tongue, feeling your pulse and palpation of your skin. This diagnosis will form the basis of your personalised points prescription and treatment plan.

Where appropriate, in addition to acupuncture, your treatment may include the following additional therapies:

  • Cupping

  • Gua Sha

  • Moxibustion

  • Massage

  • Auricular (ear) acupuncture

  • Ear seeds

  • Infra-red light therapy

  • Acupressure

  • Electro-acupuncture

Further investigation may be undertaken outside of your appointment to identify current research relating to your presenting condition and the use of Chinese Medicine or to consult with experts to optimise your future treatment (with your permission).

Low cost stress relief in small groups using ear acupuncture

Click to learn more about it

Treatment is delivered in small groups of 2-4 people, seated or lying down.

You will be asked to complete a brief written intake form. Due to the shared space and thus lack of confidentiality, if there is something private you wish to share in confidence, please email Nicola in advance of the session.

A type of ear acupuncture called the NADA protocol is used which involves using up to five acupuncture points on the ear.

Only points in the ear are used, so there’s no need to remove any clothing.

The NADA protocol is suitable for treating stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, addiction and hot flushes due to menopause or cancer medication.

These sessions are available during the day at quieter times. You can book in by yourself or a small group of friends or family attending together. You can now book this online on specific dates or contact the clinic directly to book a small group in at another mutually convenient time.

Nicola is a researcher-practitioner who has conducted research into the use of this type of ear acupuncture in a community (group) setting for people affected by trauma following the Grenfell Tower Fire. The video below explains how NADA acupuncture was used at the volunteer clinic in North Kensington and its effects on the patients.
