mindfulness stress programme

Mindfulness based yoga, contemplation and dialogue

WHAT IS THE PROGRAMME?

based on the methods of dr jon kabat-zinn and
the university of massachussetts stress reduction clinic mindfulness stress reduction is a course for you to learn to use your own internal resources to change your reaction to stress, chronic pain or illness. A way to relate to whatever is happening in your life. It involves learning how to have moment to moment awareness of the present. Doing something for yourself that no one else can do for you. Guiding you how to avoid living in the past or the future. The feeling of forgetfulness or living mechanically is the opposite of being present. By understanding these principles you learn to respond rather than react cultivating a greater sense of calm and well being. It is based on a highly successful program that is run in major hospital clinics in the United States.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
You will gain skills drawn from mindful yoga, meditation and deep relaxation. You will gain a heightened awareness in everyday life by inquiry exercises to understanding more about your body breath and mind. You will have daily assignments, a cassette tape and workbook that will encourage you to make use of guided skills in your own environment. You will be guided to a practice that over a period of time should allow you to explore yourself and stillness. It is a program developed to empower you to make simple yet profound changes in your life.
