mindfulness and yoga program for children

It's hard to believe that children experience stress until you remember what it's like to grow up. Death of a pet, divorces, a friend's moving, a new school, exams, being on time, competing, and popularity. Children stress over many of the same things adults do yet they often have little opportunity to learn healthy strategies to cope with their feelings.

Mindfulness is the practice of mind/body awareness and develops the potential to experience each moment, no matter how difficult or intense, with balance and clarity. Our children's programs are very successful. Have your children learn mindfulness in a really fun and gentle way.

Benefits of Mindfulness for Children:
1. Develops and nourishes self-esteem.
2. Develops and nourishes Emotional Intelligence.
3. Enhances team building skills and cooperative ways of interacting.
4. Teaches breathing awareness, the body scan, yoga, and mindful eating.
5. Teaches mindfulness practice to work with anger, sadness, and anxiety.
6. Offers some fun approaches to mindfulness.
7. Develops conflict resolution skills.

These qualities of awareness translate into tangible results such as better concentration and focus, more self-knowledge and self-direction, better ability to handle social situations, and less physical symptoms of stress such as stomach aches, tiredness, and headaches.

We offer one mindful program per term for children. We also take this workshop into schools. Please contact us if your school is interested.
