one-to-one yoga

Mindful Yoga

One-to-one classes are designed to take in your desires for change, knowledge and understanding. Using your own uniqueness and working from your own starting point it is a way of exploring development. This is guided by preparing realistic goals to alter your body mind and soul by going deeply into your own particular needs. In a one-to-one consultation time will be spent listening to you and attempting to guide you to find balance in your life.

Poses are taught in a very gentle manner coupled with the focus of mindfulness that pays close attention to what one is feeling physically and emotionally. This yoga is applicable for most medical conditions, since it uses a gentle orientation. It is geared for those who are new to yoga as well as those who want to deepen their practice. Participants experience increasing flexibility, relaxation, and the joy of living in the present moment.

A foundation of the class is experiencing a deeper relationship to the breath. You can learn and practice basic yoga postures and are able to proceed at a pace that suits your disposition. There will also be opportunities to study yoga sutras, meditation and mindful living. You can deepen your practice of self-exploration and self-acceptance - learning to move from where you are with compassion and awareness. No matter what shape your body (or mind) is in you will experience positive discoveries through movement.

You will learn a variety of methods for identifying and releasing stress. And open various perspectives on moving toward a greater sense of well being. Participants who take these lessons report a deep sense of relaxation, an increased awareness of their bodies and minds during their experience of individual attention and enjoy a weekly time to be still and explore their own inner experience.
